From mid October for several weeks the leaves are at their peak. And you don’t have to go very far to witness this spectacle.

As you can see the spectrum ranges from red to yellow. Apparently there are many more species of deciduous tree in North America than elsewhere. “Anyways” its incredibly beautiful, especially when the sun comes out.

I’ll “give you the heads up”. A great spot for “leaf peepers” is the monastery at Mission. One sunny day in late October we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the hills.

After lunch we meandered about the monastery, taking in the hilltop view and even popping in for an impromptu mass.

The grounds are extensive and liberally populated with Maple trees.

In all, a peace filled and joyous day!
